Mondeo MK4 Key programing

Featured Replies

Hello folks! Today was encountered face to face with my own mondeos problem. Will any one had aproblem with key fob programing. Yesterday I turn on my car sequrity with control remonte and leave. It worked perfectly (A week ago, I had feelings that battery going weaker). Today car locking system not responded. I have changed remote betterie, but it not help. I found on internet key programing method, but still not response. I can't turn off sound alarm, think it is a first problem what i met with programing steps. I tried turn off alarm to put key on and try to start engine in less then 10s how mentioned what had to help but it doesn't

  1. Put the key on “0” position on the ignition…
  2. Move the key to position “II” and then to”0″ (4 times in 4 seconds).
  3. You will hear a BIP.
  4. Than take off the key and click at any button of the remote, and only take it off your finger when you hear another BIP (it will take only 2~3seconds).
  5. Then put the key in the ignition to position “II” and then to “0”.

I did the same with another steps : put key on I to II position..., how programing the oldest fords. Maybe anyone have suggestions? Mondeo mk4 09

On normal (with key) Fords, the immobiliser (aka PATS) system is almost completely independent from the central locking and alarm, except that a valid PATS key, when inserted in the ignition & turned on, should disable the alarm.

If neither key will start the car, nor silence the alarm, then there is a PATS problem in the car.

Does this car have an immobiliser LED that flashes when the key is removed? If so it will give a flash code when a wrong key is detected. If no LED, there will usually be some other type of display of the immobiiser status.

Typical flash code:  The red immobilsor light will flash rapidly for 1 minute then it will emit a code
Example - 1 flash -PAUSE - 6 flashes = flash code 16

Flash Codes:

1 : 3 Key code not received is the key obscured, try again with different key, key may be damaged/faulty

1 : 4 Partial code only received is the key obscured, try again with different key, key may be damaged or faulty

1 : 5 Key valid but not programmed to PATS

1 : 6 Faulty link between PATS and ECU module

If the PATS system is not working (not recognising your keys), then the remote control re-programming will probably not work.
