Hi, all I've been told I was in the wrong place so I'll start again. While putting in an after market radio. I managed to arc to ground a large red wire that runs parallel with the same size yellow wire in the glovebox fuse board. There was a bang and a bit of smoke, and since them I've had no power whatsoever with lights, ignition, door locking no power at all.can anyone enlighten me as to what I have f-:;ked up.I am desperate because I am disabled,( I'm a leg amputee) all the fuses in the glovebox are good so are those under the bonnet. So I would be grateful if anyone can shine a light on what I have done I desperately need help because my car is my lifeline . Regards Ken.

Sorry to hear of your mishap Ken. As a disabled driver myself I know how important our cars are to us.

If I may suggest the best option at this stage would be to find a good mobile auto electrician. He/she would more than likely carry OBD diagnostic kit with them.

Also are you covered by RAC/AA ? If so give them a call. Failing that resort to above suggestion.

Sorry I can't be of any more help as electrics are not my strong point.

Please do keep us up dated though.

Hi Joss, thanks for the reply,in my listing I forgot to say what car I have its a 2008 mk4 Mondeo titanium X deisel. I have breakdown cover but he was as much help as a one legged man in a !Removed! kicking contest. And yes that's my next option I have a good car elec mechanic close to where I live. I just thought I could save a few bob by racking the brains of someone on here.  Still once again thanks for replying .all the best. Ken

Have you checked all the relays ?

also I found this which I hope is of some help for you Ken http://www.fordwiki.co.uk/index.php/Fuse_&_Relay_Information_-_Mk4
