Mondeo mk4 diesel engines

Featured Replies

Hi guys. I want to buy a mark IV Mondeo, but i dont know which diesel engine is the best in realibility. I saw the 116 hp, the 131hp and the 140hp. What problems can appear ?
Please help me. Thank you.

Ive got the 140 tdci and can honestly the acceleration is flat as a pan cake, I'm not a fast driver at all.  But I'm comparing it to the Sainsbury's Online van a MB Sprinter 311 with the same power and torque.  I can place my hand on my hart and honestly say the 3.5tonne van has  better get up and go compared to the Mondeo.  I would suggest you ever go with the 2.2 200bhp tdci or a petrol turbo.

I've got a 138or 140 as it's known, can't say it's a thunderbolt but it's not flat as Gaskell71 suggests, goes well if you boot it and economical too I get Avg 52 mpg avg speed 50 do mostly long runs
