Awrite folks, has anybody carried out or know how to go about doing a 4WD conversion on a mondeo? !Removed! car can't keep wheels on the ground. Starting a project on my mondeo 2.5T, but pretty sure it's not the case of just getting a focus rs set up.

Agree, sell up and buy a kuga 2.5t if you want 4wd. Or learn to drive.(only kidding) you haven't got that much power unless you have mapped it to silly bhp/torque.

I just think it is a not worth it doing a conversion just upgrade

Theoretically it should be possible to convert a mondeo MK4 2.5T to 4WD. The Mondeo MK4 is build on the same (EUCD) platform as the following Volvo models:

S60 (2011 -->)

V60 (2011 -->)

XC60 (2011 -->)

V70 (2007 -->)

XC70 (2008 -->)

S80 (2007 -->)

in theorie parts of these Volvo models could be used to convert a mondeo Mk4 to 4WD. Be aware that the wheelbase of these models is different from the Mondeo so some parts will need to be custom made. Next to this I expect it to be necessary to make some changes to the chassis and floor section to make the 4WD system and rear axle fit to the Mondeo. 

In my opinion you should only start this project if you have both the technical and engineering skills to perform the conversion yourself. If not it will be a very expensive and time consuming project.

I honestly think it will be cheaper buying a true awd then doing a conversion. You need to change the drive train. Tranmision and so much more it is not even worth it. Another option is maybe buy a 4wd chases and do an engine transplant

Thanks for the feedback, will look into the volvo setups. Yeah it would be cheaper but where's the fun in that lol I did see that somebody did do it in mk3, figured hmmm not bad shout. 

Cheaper option.......buy a Jag xtype and change the badge to Mondeo
