hi all , i m going to change timing chain tomorrow , have a question , 

to remove timing chain cover do i have to remove power steering pump pulley or all power steering pump ? 

ps i dont have bearing puller . how to do it ? 

I do have to ask why are you changing the timing chain, these are normally trouble free, if anything goes it can be the tensioner

160 000 sprokets and chain wore , tensioner out fully so ye thats why :) and yea i did remove ps pump only 4 bolts easy .

Ok, my mk3 did over 195k without probs from chain, finally succumbed to fuel pump probs, not worth the money to change it

got full chain kit for 69£ cheep and its petrol so not worry to much about pump , just bought that car for 100 £ so after chains change + oils so car will cost me 200£(workhorse) :)

you got the tools to set the cams and crank? and a new friction washer, crank bolt? 

yep all done already 

have to say simple thing as timing chain change cured hell lot of problems on her :

she had rough idle , vibrating between 2000-3000 rpm , hard too start when hot , bad mpg  , after timing chain change all problems just gone and she runs like a dream ,
