Timing on mk3 v6

Hi  I changed my timing chains due to the tensioner breaking but now the car will not start, I followed the manual but I did break a wire that goes near to oil filter, please can someone tell me the sequence for re setting my timing, I have stripped the car back but have not yet moved the timing chains
