Problem with radio code!

Wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem as me. Went to main dealer to get radio code. I assume he pressed the 1 and 6 buttons on radio to get serial number. Went and got a code which didn't work. So Thursday he wants me to come back to take the radio unit out to check the serial number printed on the unit. But if it's the same serial number again then he won't get another code! Just wondering does anyone know what my next step would be then? Coz it's weird driving in silence all the time!!!
