Mondeo MK5 1.5TDCi vs 1.6TDCi

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

My wife fell in love in Mondeo MK5 and wants an upgrade from her Focus. What are pros and cons around two models 1.5 and 1.6TDCi - is there a big difference between them?

Ta!

Jacob

From reading Foci reviews, the 1.5 is generally the better to drive.

The 1.5 is much newer (although still based on the 1.6), the 1.6 is basically the old DV6.

The 1.5 tdci is a newer more refined engine making 120 hp/ 270 nm of torque compared to the 115 hp/ 270 nm of torque of the older 1.6tdci.  The newer 8v 1.6 tdci was an improvement on the older more complicated 16v dv6 in itself.
