Crankshaft sensor

Hi guys recently removed my crankshaft sensor from non starter with metal shavings anyone have any ideas what caused this

dual mass flywheel breaking up causes metal filings which attracts to magnetic sensor

I agree with Iantt, that looks exactly like bits of the DMF.  When you press the clutch pedal in can you feel a vibration of a 'tapping' through the clutch pedal?  (or is it still an non-starter?)

Due to weather I haven't got a new one in yet so still non starter will let you know when it starts
