2016 Mondeo Satnav Card query

Hey all,

Picked up my (quite) new Mondeo (registered around April 2016).

I just had the system tell me there was a problem with the SatNav sd card....when I checked it, the one fitted is an F3! A bit of googling has me thinking it should be at least the F4 card.....am I correct?

edit: Also, I only seem to have Sync 2 and not Sync 3 as expected.

    Check the forums, I think there was a free update to f4 due to problems with f3. My Focus came with f2 so couldn't get a free upgrade, bought f5 card off e bay for £20.

    I think the annual update is due so maybe a new f6 due soon.

    If you had Sync 3 you wouldn't need the SD Card as it's no longer required. Unfortunately there's isn't a Ford upgrade route from Sync 2 to 3 but it may be possible to swap the touch screen, hardware and use a third party to setup with appropriate software.  Not cheap.

    What's the actual build date (shown on ETIS) of your car ?   I've seen some Fords for sale that have a build date well over a year before being first registered. 

    I recently looked at a 2016 (16 plate) car that was actually a build from 2014 meaning some of the standard equipment and versions of things was different to a 2016  build model.
