Foreign object in air intake

Featured Replies

Hi all,

This is really embarrassing, but I was cleaning my car's EGR valve over the weekend using Wynn's EGR valve cleaner spray, as I do regularly. However, this time, the plastic straw supplied with the spray shot out and went into my car's air intake! I tried to retrieve it but there was no sign of it. At this point, I thought I'd killed my car. I carried on with the cleaning anyway and followed the process (let the car idle, drive for 5 miles under 3,00rpm) and the car seems fine...

Silly question, but should I be concerned? Has anyone else done this and if so, what was the outcome?

Thanks for reading

Hi all,

An update on this for anyone interested... 1,500 miles later and the car is fine and I've not experienced any problems yet! Phew!

That's a relief I bet!
