How well does the 2.2 TDCI take to remaps?

As above really.  I have an '06 2.2 TDCI Mk3 and wish to give it a remap to improve driveability. (not a full-blown e*ection-inducing, crankshaft-snapping, turbo-browing ramap, you understand!) This question has probably been asked a thousand times and I appologise if it already has!

I just wanted people's opinion who have maybe done it?  The car has done 140000 miles and I'm wondering if it's worth taking the risk.
