Parking assist problem solved

Featured Replies

Well finally sorted the problem on my park assist, had the fault finally found on a reader by a local auto spark and it turned out it was the rear sensors speaker ! 😳 Phoned up the local dealer and was told the park would cost a whole £12.10 plus the dreaded vat but  was told had to pay for it in person first as they would have to order it in.😐  Went down to order it and was told the cost was £12.10 all in and they had one in. Then the fun began ,Haynes said it was behind the trim panel in the load space - wrong😡 then was told it could be behind the C pillar trim - wrong again😡  then went back to the dealers to speak to the Ford auto spark who had to look it up on Etis as everybody said they had never changed one before. Finally found where it was located .......... above the roof lining only able to access via the light fitting above the rear seat 😡😡😡😡😡😡 After getting to it I found it had been glued to the roof lining - what a stupid idea had to use a narrow scraper to tease it free then just to make my day the wire was too short to get the speaker out of the hole to release the plug - one narrow screwdriver later I managed to release the plug and fit the new speaker. Hurrah. Thankfully it worked when tested.😀😀😀😀😀😀  So what should have taken 20 min took nearly 90 mins due a brilliant design and installation. The spark at the dealers  said if they had been given the job from the off it would have cost nearly £200 pounds in diagnostics, parts and labour all for a £12 part. 😡
