My first Ford!

Featured Replies

Hi

I've just joined the group because I bought a 1996 Ford Escort 1.6i LX in metallic petrol blue with 20.5k genuine miles that has been treated like a pampered pet.

Unusually, its automatic and it drives very smoothly. I'm really enjoying it so far but I'm undecided whether to run it as a normal car or make the effort to get it into concours condition.

Im hoping your stories on this forum will help me decide.

Happy motoring!

Hi Welcome

Hi Ms Daisy. What a car you've found. Treated like a pampered pet? Then the only thing you can do is continue its treatment. Pointless going concours if you'll be driving it daily. If there are any blemishes on it then correct them. Then your car will be as mint as a daily runner can be. However if it's not going to be a daily runner then you could go concourse and use it as a show car but that is a labour of love.
Welcome to the forum anyway and all the best with your car.
