Cruise control not working

Hi everyone

I have a problem started about a month ago that drives me crazy !

I have mondeo 2012 with 120k km

About a month ago my cruise control stopped working...

When I press the cruise button on the steering wheel it goes to standby but when I press the set buttons it not just not responding it's completely closing the cruise as if I pressed the cruise control activation button again to close the cruise... also if I press the speed limitation button it's going to standby but when I press the set buttons it's shutting it down completely.

Anyone has any idea?

    A common problem; well it is usually either the clock spring or the buttons themselves.
