wheels

Featured Replies

Hi guys and girls, I've just bought a mk3 focus st and was wondering if anyone can tell me wether the standard wheels are painted or powder coated as I cant seem to find out, also if you know which one they are can you recommend a decent wheel cleaner for them? thanks

Hi Welcome

The original wheels are painted. You can basically use every wheel cleaner as long as it is acid free. Cheap wheel cleaners may contain acids which can cause damage to the paint after extensive use.

Personally I never use a wheel cleaner. I apply a layer of wheel wax about twice a year which makes cleaning a lot easier. I just use a decent car shampoo to clean my wheels. It must have been 10 Years ago that I used a wheel cleaner.

You need to get them clean before putting wax on. Depends on what state they are in. It you might need a fallout remover tar remover then acid free clean. Finally polish and wax.
