Question about waistgate on turbo

I have a 09 Mondeo 2.0 Ltr TDCI & the engine occasionally goes into limp mode & have been told it's the waistgate on the turbo. My Question is it possible & would it be worthwhile just to change the waistgate actuator. The engine has done 92000.
