Driver Seat Tilt

Featured Replies

I’ve had a look at all the posts around this but can’t find what I need! I have a 2015 fiesta titanium and the driver side seat release has suddenly stopped working. I can feel tension when I pull the handle and it feels like the right hand side (inside) lock releases but the left hand side (outside) doesn’t budge at all.

Does anyone know if this would be covered by the warranty?

If not what do I need to remove to work out if it’s just the release mechanism that’s jammed or the cable that’s broken?

I don't see why it wouldn't be covered by warranty.

They might try and fob you off in typical fashion, but I'd push for it to be done under warranty.

If it's broken on a 2 year old car, it clearly hasn't lasted a reasonable amount of time (Consumer Rights Act).

I don't know what it's like inside the seat back on modern cars. I had an Escort where this happened, inside the seat back it was like bicycle brake cables. a cable had broken, I repaired it with a new piece of bicycle brake cable and some wire connectors of this type.  Car was a lot older.  I would be very annoyed if the warranty did not deal with it on a 2yr old car
