Is this a correct function....

Every time i turn the dash fan dial round to windscreen , ie the furthest right. The air con light comes on

I dont want the air con on just blowing on windscreen. Im sure when i turned it off it came back on a some point aswell.

Is this operation correct or is it a fault

    This is correct. The aircon dehumidifies the air, clearing the windscreen quicker. You do want it.

    I can confirm this happens on my 09 fiesta aswell and others I've seen, it's normal, if you really don't want air con on just put it on the dot to the left of the far right, it won't come on but might be less effective as said above.

    yes, does it on my 2015 Fiesta also, very annoying. If I wanted the aircon on I would prefer to press the aircon button myself instead of the car assuming I wanted the aircon on. 

    On my 2007 fiesta it worked as you would expect, ie. aircon only came on if I pressed the aircon button.

    Actually does anyone know if it is possible to alter the behaviour with Forscan etc so aircon will only come on if I press the button?
