Featured Replies

Have a alternator clutch pullys to fit on my mondeo at tdci I'm place of its standard fixed pully. Has anyone on here changed one over and could give me some tips? Some say u have to grind the pully away and some say u have to grind the alternator away just can find any pics of this for the pully I have. I have a INA:535003910.

Any help on the subject would be great

Well after a few hours of messing about could not make it work. Took the raised section off the alternator and the lip off the new clutch pully and couldn't get it to screw on far enough. Only way around it I can think would be to grind the shaft down.

I have completed the same mod using a clutch pulley from the petrol model and after filing down the alloy on the alternator fitting it to the diesel model.

I have ran the car with this done new belt and tensioner and crank pulley at the same time and have done over 30k and there is not a single vibration or judder from the belt or tensioner, which is rare on tdci mondeos.

My other mondeo tdci had just the gates tensioner kit and crank pulley changes and that is rattling after around 12k

Says it all a very good mod.

Now my ghia x model refuses to go in to second gear unless I really slam it in. And the reversing lights and reversing sensors have packed in.  Think it is the cables effecting 2nd gear but as when I do get it in it drives fine, I did change gearbox oil on servicing.

I am now after an accident which has me with horrid back pain unable to fix it I am afraid it is going to have to go   Shame as 06 plate with all the ghia x add ons in this condition won't fetch much at all.:sad:  I will drive the other car for now.
