Decat thoughts

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, me and dad are thinking of decating the cat on the car. Main question I'm asking is does the mk6.5 fiestas have any sensors which measure the gases beyond the cat? I've seen pictures of the cat and there's no wires connected to it which is a good sign showing there's nothing in the cat measuring the gases. I know the Mk7s have a DPF and wires coming out cat which the mk6 doesn't have.

My dad decatted his car and noticed it was a little more louder however he noticed it felt a bit better on power plus you can hear the turbo spool.

Well it's illegal so best not to be posting it on public forums...   It's also an MOT fail (yes, people get away with it atm) and doesn't really offer any gains lol...

Not worth the hassle, I've had a few decatted cars, doesn't improve performance or noise in reality, far better off with an open air filter and a different backbox for noise and a remap for performance.  The cat really isn't that restrictive.

But to answer your question, no there's no sensors after the cat on a mk6 diesel.

Might be best then to leave it. Am planning on checking the oil feed pipe then for any build up of dirt. Don't want the turbo to get starved on oil. Gave the car a good oil change a few months ago so would help
