Ford Fiesta mk6 auto ecu

Featured Replies

Hi guys ecu gone on car and need to send off to be done rebuilt

anybody on here had this done ?  Did it work for you ?

Thanks

A little off topic but what happened when the ecu went?

Is it not just as cheap getting a new ECU? Or at least one from a breakers? Who's to say the fault with yours isn't going to come back?

Only saying as I used to work on PC's and at one point I used to solder new capacitors onto the motherboard when the old ones blew and leaked everwhere. Very few lasted beyond a year before the same capacitors blew again. After a while I gave up and just bought a new motherboard each time. My time is worth more than money, in that time I could have fixed 3 computers in the time it took me to repair that one. Even though the capacitors were pennies each, the labour charges were like £30 less than a new board anyway.
