TDCI and Econetic TDCI

Featured Replies

Where & what is the difference  between  the  150/180 bhp TDCi and the 150/180 bhp Econetic TDCI ?

I don't know on Mondeo but on Fiesta the Econetic has (compared to non-econetic fiesta):

smaller wheels with narrower tyres on (the the tyres are higher profile so diameter is the same). The narrower tyres cause less drag and hence better mpg (that's the thinking on this)

lower suspension to improve airflow

higher gearing

different battery charging where it only charges battery on the overrun so battery charging does not sap energy when foot is on the throttle (not sure how it does this - perhaps it has some sort of clutch on the alternator pulley).
