Focus MK3 Stop Start module location

Featured Replies

Hello all

Does anyone know where the stop start module in the picture is located on a 2013 Focus MK3 please.

I have recently done the battery monitoring reset with FORScan but it still doesn't work.

Any advice on where this unit is would be much apprciated, thank you. The picture is of what it looks like or at least this is what I have bought. :confused1:

I'm sure @iantt will be along in a moment =]

This is the Voltage Stabilisation Module. As far as i can find this module is mounted behind the dashboard at the drivers side. However I can not confirm this.

yep dc to dc converter it looks like youve got. here is no stop start module , the bcm , bms and pcm control this function

Thank you all for your reply, that's what happens when you buy things thinking you can fix it. Luckily it was cheap and it is probably why I couldn't find anything with google.

I think there are other issues going on as well tbh, I have noticed also that the "steering assist" menu has disappeared from the display. though the steering is fine on the setting it is using.

I don't know if both these stopped when the battery was replaced though.

Don't have any of these issues on my MK3 Escort.......

what version of mk3 have you got? and what type of battery has been fitted?

I know its a while back now but was the Stop Start Module located behind the Drivers side dashboard. Also did it need paired with ECU when installed. Thanks DISC130

I have some issues with this module. Few days ago my battery went empty during night. I had to change new battery. For precaution I took "plus" cable off from battery because the are over 2 amps current leakage if measured by multimeter between battery and plus cable. After this I removed all fuses off on by one from engine compartment fuse box.

I noticed that when I removed fuse F11 from fuse box, current drop from 2,5 amps to 0,7 amps. Does any one know where this quality voltage module is exactly located? I do not have start-stop function in my car. Is it possible to change this quality voltage module by myself? (accessible easily?)

Has anyone else got similar problems?

You have fitted a new battery to the car.  Good.

To check for a parasitic current draw you need to fully lock the car connect your amp meter and then wait for 30 minutes to see what the current settles at.

You can not check the current in less that 30 minutes as many of the modules will still be awake and active.

This is really strange case. I think I took all fuse off one by one from engine compartment, passenger compartment and luggage. Still did not have current value like 50 mAmps or similar. Even removing F11, current is 0,9 Amps.

Even removed all megafuses and nothing.

What is caution this?

Even done that after night. Nothing effect even car doors locked hours.

From my experiene with my mk5 mondeos, the stop start wont work if there are certain ecu fault codes.

connect it to forscan if you can and see what pops up, egr and dpf related codes definately affect it. as thats what my codes were.

I fixed the issues and it started working again, but cant say I missed it!!
