  8. I don't live in GB wouldn't mind visiting though I've never been out of Ireland Left hand drive polish taxi with a Nigerian driver in Ireland, overtaking a truck load of turkeys... Just when I thought things couldn't get anymore mixed up, I look out on the road and I saw the reindears flying, So I had to take a picture

  23. Get someone to crimp a lug onto that and use the stud that's already there to attach it. You can buy battery terminals with longer studs too if that's not big enough.

  33. I know it sound daft but you did get some one to press the break peddle for you while you where bleeding them ? as you woun't get much out other wise (unless you have an air lock or something). If you did then you could try one of those pressurised bleed kits that work from your spare wheel for pressure.

  34. wow , what are the chances that this other person has the same car as you ! lol , you really set yourself up for a ripping with this song and dance , easier to just ask for help as a non mechanic from the get-go. ;-)

  35. Shame on this Ford Fusion owner. Parked in a bus stop and part in the live carriageway. Obviously the bus needed to stop but couldn't pull in which, combined with the legally parked car on the opposite side of the road, meant the whole of the road was blocked.

  41. It's the lesser of two evils! I'd rather have too much power (wheel spin) than the car suddenly bog down when trying to merge onto a busy roundabout. ABS is something I've got mixed feelings about. The Peugeot and Ford don't have it, whereas the Mercedes does. I actually had a similar experience to what you described last week when I approached a junction that I've done hundreds of times before, but in this instance the wet road and cold temperatures (late at night) had made it very slick, and I almost ploughed straight past it and onto a busy main road had it not been for the C220's ABS keeping it controlled and stopping just in time. That said, when driving a car without ABS (405 or Focus) I adjust my braking force accordingly (threshold braking) and use cadence braking if required. That is one thing I learned before I even passed my test, as I knew that I'd spend most of my driving life with cars lacking ABS, and I needed to know how to control a vehicle without it. T/C may be useful if it were set up to be a last resort (only stepping in if the wheels were spinning uncontrollably) and I wouldn't mind that too much, but when it affects the car unnecessarily - and potentially dangerously - I would rather have none at all.

  42. My 1.6 pull away was far from sluggish. We have a notorious roundabout up here in Aberdeen for being a pain. I never once felt I couldn't just leap out into a gap and be on my merry way. In fact I could trigger the traction control readily if I was too enthusiastic :)

  43. Just popped into say it isn't just you but probably one of these traits cars have. My 1.6TDCi 64 plate did this. Ford couldn't find a problem. It was on a lease, so I didn't spend too much time looking into it as it's no longer my problem.

  44. Hi, just purchased a 2015 titanium x focus with adaptive bi-xenon headlights. According to the Focus brochure I should have static cornering lights, but they don't seem to come on no matter how much I turn the steering wheel. Any one else have adaptive bi-xenons and could tell me if they have static cornering lights. Thanks
