I do like a nice drive in the old turbo diesel this afternoon and now sitting with a glass of wine and a chinese take-away in the oven. It is quite sad really that the best things in my life are alcohol, food and driving, but it is better than nothing!!5 points

My car doesn't have a low washer fluid warning light either, despite being much newer :S You should have just filled up with a bit of water for free, and then bought one later. No way I'd ever pay 10 quid for screenwash!!2 points

From what I understand, limp mode is when the engine restricts itself in some way when it detects a fault to prevent damage. It's like a safety mechanism i guess. Somebody else on here could probably give you a better technical definition than me........2 points

What radio? You will normally need to buy an adapter cable (and box) to link them to your radio. These are generally split by manufacturer - i.e. my Pioneer radio had a box to convert from Ford to pioneer.2 points

So today I finally picked up my Fiesta Zetec S Red Edition after waiting for what seemed like an eternity (but what was in fact only a week) and I couldn't be happier! I picked up the car used (albeit a 2016 model with just under 10K miles on so nearly new) and there are already a couple of little bits done to it which will save me a little bit of time and money. However I thought I would use this thread as a little record of the changes I am planning on making in the near and distant future. Completed changes: Black and Red "Ford" gel badges all around. Rear lights changed (Thanks to 666Damian666 for pointing this out). Front and Rear "S" badges Lockwood "S" engraved kick plates Gloss black interior air vent surrounds Team Heko Wind Deflectors (with red pinstripe) Change foot well lights to red "Fiesta" etched foot rest K&N Air Filter "S" wing badges from DMB I'm open to suggestions on any small changes I haven't mentioned.1 point

most if not all bulbs can be upgraded to aftermarket products , some like dipped & full beam need to be "E" marked for use on UK roads. mumberplates lamps are no probs with fitting leds etc1 point

if they were all the same there would be no point in them as a thief would carry one with them. on my mk6 fiesta there was a code with the paperwork i got with the car. they do look very prone to damage to me . when using it you need to make sure you keep pressing hard towards the nut so it can not slip out as the groove is not very deep1 point

they are specific , well mcguard probably make 20 or so different key profiles to reduce duplication. replacement keys are available but you need a key number or code to get the right one or take a close up photo of locking nut and email it to mcguard , see if they can send a new one out.....1 point

Looks like air was the culprit, filter seal replaced system bled and so far two cold morning starts, instant ignition1 point

Not going to choose a Tyre Brand. Just seems like a stupid thing to do when most manufacturers make good tyres and bad tyres (for my requirements and they would change depending on the tyre size/car combination).1 point

Saw the graphics on a RS Focus was a display RS with these graphics on. So these were not a kit, had to get them made up from a photo, the place that done the graphics also fitted of course, I would not even attempt to try that lol1 point

my alcohol consumption In 2015 was 1ltr of Captain Morgan's spiced rum in the year that was all alcohol consumed for the year. this doubled to 2ltrs of the same Captain Morgan's spiced rum in the year 2016 that was all alcohol consumed in the year. in 2017 now I've consumed 1ltr of Captain Morgan's spiced rum in the first four weeks of the year 😁 I won't be drinking any now for the next two - three months as I'll only be off work on Sundays.1 point

Should never throw hot water on a windscreen. The sudden temperature change causes a rapid expansion in the glass, usually unevenly and so it cracks. Don't you have the quick clear windscreen on your car? Even "cold" tap water can be significantly higher in temperature than the glass depending on the outside temperature, plus using it on the side windows it usually finds it way in to gaps and seals and the next day the door won't open. I just whack my quick clear on and scrape the side windows, before I've finished that the front and back are done.1 point

HI, my name is Del. I have a 2010 Kuga 2l Titanium tdci 4x4. Love this but need something bigger for work. Was thinking a S-Max 2.5T 06/07 for about 3 to 4 grand. Looking at the Mondeo, it comes with many extra features, eg. Keyless Entry and Lane Departure Warning. My thoughts are....... from a lucky position of having a few friends who are dismantlers and purchase crashed cars as donor cars.......... What could it take from other Fords to upgrade and 06/08 S-Max A few things I`ve thought of.... Keyless Entry Start Button Lane Departure Warning Front Full Electric / Full Leather / Heated and cooled Seats Convers+ updrage Some feed back would be so cool......thanks1 point

The 'fasteners' arrived today from All Car Parts. (I was sent black ones, not yellow.) Did the job. Thanks for the advice.1 point

At least it's not just mine. I've got a set of mudflaps waiting to go on, maybe they will help reduce it a bit.1 point

Good job you added the last bit or you would be in trouble. I get just over 25mins with the roller brush on and not tried it with out yet,i was just shocked with the power of it even on normal but the boost sticks to the carpet. I use it being i care 24/7 at home so this is a massive help and being mainly upstairs it does 3 bedrooms/hall and wet room easy and charge left which is the point of putting it on charge when not flat, cheers for the advice.1 point

I had a similar thing with a set of hid lights it turned out that the bulb did need changing but i also changed the ballast just to make sure. Regards Adam1 point

There are several cheap premade relays on eBay that just require an ignition live, headlight and earth connection to fit your DRLs. This would be the easiest way to fit DRLs legally. Check item 281677042030 and 141970876177 for some options.1 point

Sadly it's not looking possible then mate, If you had a "main stream" brand of aftermarket headunit such as pioneer or sony you can fit a model specific steering stalk adaptor which the steering stalk loom plugs in to and provides the correct connection on the other end for the specific headunit.1 point

Do you realise those are not standard rear light clusters as you have not mentioned them1 point
-
I will do yeh. Did you find any difference with it fitted? My idea is to go with what ford have done with the ST200 and use softer springs (standard) and stiffen up the rear axle and also the front subframe.1 point

Thanks a lot,i have just edited the details as found it on the Dyson itself so when done like 10mins just put it back on charge. It will be used every other day say or in some cases every day. Thanks.1 point

I'd expect Li-Ion or Li-Po on one of those too to be honest. Nickel prefer full charge and discharge rather than lots of top ups, to get the best life out of them. So if it's got a Ni-Mh or NI-Cd battery I'd say use it till it's flat, then charge it up full and take it off charge when done.1 point
-
They are nickel based batteries , and to get the maximum lifespan out of them the charger should be switched off once battery is fully recharged , and let the battery cool down before recharging. surprised theyre not lithium ion considering how expensive dyson products are.1 point

Wow I'm suprised about the ST having a bad turning circle. When I test drove one I didn't notice it being bad in that respect. It turned every corner well and went round mini roundabouts no probs. But oh yes on the straights that's another story hee hee. It's a sorry affair that Ford have made a Superb car in the RS and ST yet forget it has to go round mini roundabouts etc.1 point
-
Aye, the ST turning radius is a bit on the wide side too, but what it does on the straight roads more than compensates for that. [emoji41] Sent from my SM-G930F1 point

Turning circle is appalling but that's why it has drift mode[emoji16]1 point

Same on my Zetec S due to the rack limiters. I just use the manual steering assist, yank the handbrake up!1 point

Thanks though I seem to have fixed it (fingers crossed): According to most the only way to cure it is either clean connections or replace switches which involves removal of steering wheel and airbag etc etc. I didn't fancy all that hassle so I looked down the sides of the switches and could see 4 very small square holes. These holes are just big enough to get the end of a small straw down so I sprayed down each one with contact/switch cleaner. This I did a week ago and normal operation was resumed instantly and has worked fine ever since at all speeds... Worth a try for a 5-minute fix! Sent from my iPad using Ford OC1 point
