Went to Lexus to book in my car for a recall and I love when a couple came up to me to talk about the car and asked if they can even seat in it. Because they are looking to purchase the same. I felt like a sales man and I actually enjoyed it. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk3 points

Grills fitted today, I was a little apprehensive about the upper with what can happen with the lock but it was simple tbh, the fog surround were an absolute nightmare though as the clips just didn't want to fit in the slots! Also fitted nightbreakers to the fog lights too, which on the focus bulb list were H8 but were actually H11's3 points

Sorry to hear that, job hunting is one of the most frustrating things you can do. Are you currently out of a job or just looking for something else?2 points

4-electric windows (comfort windows) are completely different from the standard 2-electric windows. The standard 2-electric windows are controlled conventionally using switches and relays. The 4-electric windows are controlled digitally by the door modules and CANbus system. If you want to close the windows using the alarm system you have to send the correct command through the CANbus system to the door modules. The 4-electric windows (comfort windows) do have the global opening/closing system as standard. The windows can be opened/closed by long pressing the open/close button of the keyfob.2 points

theres no "conserving" the earths resources going on here. keep pumping the oil out the ground to fuel the v6 and v8 motors. we were at seaworld and they pretend to be conservationists, asking us to do our bit for the enviroment by using less plastic bags so they dont end up in the sea. then 30 mins later we are in walmart where the cashier bags our shopping up using nearly 1 bag per item !!! . we did laugh. 20 plastic bags for a little shop2 points

If the cable is long enough run it under the dash, up behind the A pillar trim and up to the courtesy light surround. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk2 points

So last week someone hit me coming out of junction caused alot damage and has resulting in new drivers door, new fender wing and new front bumper. Went to pick the car up this morning and have had to reject the work and leave the car with them as i wasn't happy. Basically they have done a great job on the drivers door and fender and the paint matches great but its the front bumper, the body work guy said that they come pre painted from ford and i have take it up with ford, i mean the colour is way out on the bumper and looks wrong. Anyway i told the body work guy its not my problem it comes from ford liek that and they will need respray it to match, he said i have wait till tue for authorisation from insurence and i will phone my insurence myself to push it through but i am just wondering has anyone else been in same situation and how did it turn out? plastic shield underneath was also cracked so they need repair that. Any tips on what to look out for when checking it over next week.. heres picture of the damage. Thanks1 point

1.0T is lighter than the 1.6NA or diesel. Shouldn't be any vibrations that affect the wheels. All Ford alloys are quite heavy compared to aftermarket wheels, so you're buying, relatively, nil performance increase for significantly more money.1 point

I don't like spending my bank holiday Friday stuck indoors writing a job application. All this effort for it to potentially be tossed aside by some HR hiring nanny who think she knows all the ins and outs for the industry she recruits for, despite actually never having done any real work within it.1 point

Hi guys, recently given a 04 plate Fiesta, got a fair few issues so Ive joined the forums to find some guidance. Look forward to meeting some of you on my quest to fix up my motor!1 point

Track rod ends or potentially a worn steering rack/box. It could just be the tyres though if they are soft, worn or even just cheap brands.1 point

Is there any play in the track rod ends there's videos on you tube1 point

Final Update: Just a quick thanks for all the info you guys gave me. Been out doing the rear discs & pads today prior to MOT as the discs were in pretty bad condition. Job went smoothly, this is my third go at working on brakes and my confidence is growing - felt like I knew what I was doing today!! One thing of interest, I slapped 'eicher' pads on temporarily two months ago and replaced with Mintex today. The piston had screwed up the back plate of the pad, whether it's common or not I don't know or down to poor quality pads but will post a photo later. On a separate note for anyone reading this who is a beginner like me - a sledge hammer is essential - the discs wouldn't budge with a standard one and have to say its incredibly satisfying wacking them off And finally, with some plusgas & decent pliers, a hammer, and a screwdriver complete with half an hour's patience, i got the broken caliper spring out of the blind hole and replaced with a new one. Had a quote of £190 for the rear discs & pads + new spring. All done for £54! Happy Days!1 point

Good news and bad news... Good news first.. it's fixed! I opened the bonnet one day as the engine was idling weirdly every 3 seconds or so the revs would drop and then go back to normal. On looking at the engine I noticed that the waste gate was opening in sync with the revs dropping, it would open, go down half way and then close completely and then repeat. On looking through a thread on here I saw that someone had the exact same signs and said that it was a result of a failed pressure converter valve (AKA boost solenoid) so £50 later and a 1 hour diy job the car is sorted! Now for the bad news.. The bonnet catch is broken and now I cant open the bonnet!1 point

It's only what I've been told. It also appears Ford Australia did have the updates on their My Ford section of the site. People did try that update and it went badly for a lot of them (eg. loosing sat nav functionality etc.) So that's probably the problems he is referring to. I'm going to leave mine until it fails again and then either DIY or take it back to the dealer and try to tell them again there is an update! I've done other things on my car that I'm sure they'd say would never work.1 point

Thanks mate, Two of the cables; most likely the red and the black are positive and negative cables, You should splice red to an ignition positive feed within the car, probably easiest to use a "piggyback fuse adaptor" and put it in to a fuse which becomes live when the engine is running. The green cable then is a sensor feed, it connects to the white cable on the temperature probe, The black cable on the temperature probe then connects to the hose adaptor you have fitted in the engine bay. then run a cable from the pipe adaptor to the body of the car to earth it. I've done all this on my first car. Best to purchase cable from this seller: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/AutoStar-Shop Also get a cable crimp tool and some insulated spade connectors1 point

It is ridiculous when you think about it! I'd still rather have that though than the situation we have in the UK where everything is controlled for us. You MUST NOT do this and MUST NOT do that.1 point

nope, thats remains of heated windscreen ribbon on one end of that cable from what i can see. so either the heated screen doesnt work one side or a replacement screen has been fitted at some point.1 point

was going to have a ford edge 2.7 ecoboost v6 (315hp) but got beaten to that one by another group of tourists( basicaly you go to to the rental garage at airport and pick from a row of cars in your catergory you prevoisly chose, we paid for standard suv) so went for a dodge journey instead, bit old fashoined compared to the edge . still had 283hp from 3.6 v6. currently getting 18mpg lol1 point

Even if you don't have a car in NY it's likely you'll end up in a Ford Taxi! I got to go in a few C-Max Hybrids and a Ford Escape Hybrids. Didn't go in a Crown Vic as I wanted to go in a hybrid and went in a Prius instead.1 point

If it's within 30 days of owning it throw the keys back to the dealer and get a refund. If not then they have to fix it within 6 months of purchase. It's up to them to prove the fault has developed since you've bought it, not the other way around as most think. It's under the Consumer Rights Act brought in 2015. This website voes into it quite well http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/the-second-hand--car-i-bought-has-a-problem-what-are-my-rights It's not just backstreet dealers that try it on with you. I've been through this with Arnold Clarke.1 point

Those are still such a downgrade imo. The ones on the left in the brochure above look nice though, but still couldn't justify the cost instead of the titanium ones1 point

It ain't cheap that's for sure, but is worth it from what I've heard. Enjoy yourself, have you by chance got a Ford hire car?1 point

Is that going by the ebay vehicle search option 'Find parts for your car' Helpful sometimes but sometimes not! Don't see why these wouldn't fit on your car.1 point

Yup, just replaced the rears in mine with some cheap JVC's which run rings around the original speakers.1 point

In relation to dake_k reply above. Yes, I am always telling people this. So many people replace the water pump whenever the timing belt is done. I know that it can make sense due to the amount of work involved in changing the water pump at a later date. but the original ford pump might carry on working (and not leaking) longer than a cheap replacement, so using a cheap replacement can be worse than not changing the water pump1 point
