  5. 👍 Electrics for me were the easy bit, it took me 30mins to get the ***** handle off the tailgate to drill the camera hole lol. I was ready for giving up!

  6. Of course I believe you mate. Just a bit of banter.🙂 Good job on the camera too, I'd probably set my car electrics on fire trying that. I reckon I could get the rear trim panel off ok though!😉

  9. Not running out on the way to fuel station! Also, the guy on the till was confirming everyone's pump number by saying the make and colour of the car... Trouble is there were 3 black VWs on the forcourt at the time.

  10. A reversing camera is great when parking in a tight space. Fitted one on my fiesta and just today it helped me park in a tight space. Was parking on a narrow road so had to be careful how far the front was swinging out. Sometimes I think of having parking sensors as it gives you a audible que rather than moving you eyes to something else like the camera screen.

  13. I don't normally post here but I am feeling very very smug today and I have to share my reason. Today I fitted a reverse camera to my mk3.5 st line Focus. It does not have rear sensors so there was no PAM or wiring pugs laid ready. I had to get a 54 pin APIM harness that had all the wires present and also an RCA socket, Amazon smiled on me there. I enabled the cam via Forscan and the harness came today. I've fitted it and tested it and it works! The hardest part was getting the boot release and number plate lights part off the car. Anyways, it works perfectly now. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

  15. I checked back today after a week of not going on the site at all, entered my VIN and boom! the file has been recognised. I didn't upload again today, the last time I uploaded it was last week. If you have uploaded the file and you got the screen saying it had been uploaded then just keep checking back.

  18. Sorry I haven't been online recently, it's been mad busy at work and although financially that's a great thing, it's a trade off against my time. So, I've retired the 2002 1.4 Petrol Focus CL which was my run around daily driver. Primarily I used it to drive to a location and then take the dog for walks. It didn't matter if the dog got back into the boot soaking wet as it was the old car. The problem comes now where does the dog go in the newer car? The Zetec-S! Well I had a bit of free time today so I got my hands on an 8' x 4' sheet of 9mm MDF, I had already removed the fabric boot floor and thinking of a wet dog, measured and cut some plywood sterling board as a new boot floor. This sits on top of the foam which raises up to cover the height of the space saving spare wheel. I partitioned off the left side for the dog, I intend to cover the MDF here with black lino (wipe clean) and the right side is where I'm going to start to install my audio. A sub and an amp has been buried up in my loft for the last ten years. It used to sit in my Pug 306 GTi-6 that I used to own many moons ago in my youth. I've actually placed the sub and the amp in the car today and secured them to my MDF build. The right side has been raised up a few inches so that I can run all of the cables underneath. Eventually when I run the cables I will just drill them through the top MDF layer so it'll all look neat and tidy (Hopefully) and I intend to carpet this right side the same (or as near to it as I can) as the rear boot carpet. Stage 1 of this project is just to have my current speakers (6) un-amped and as is, with my 2 channel amp bridged into mono for use only by my subwoofer. Stage 2 of this project is to have a 4 channel amp powering the current 6 speaker system. I say 6 because the front speakers have tweeters so I presume as there is only one pair of wires going to the front speakers from the head unit there must be a crossover somewhere in the door and a second pair of leads must come from that to go to the tweeter? Obviously thinking what I do next, I'd like to think about Stage 2 when buying equipment or installing Stage 1. Now talking equipment wise I need some help and advise. I am aware I need a LOC spliced into the front speaker wires from the head unit. Actually I intend to splice into a parrot wiring harness rather than the original audio loom. However I am unsure with which one to go for? Options seem to be (I've spend the last two days attempting to research all of this) Alpine PXE-H660, Alpine PXA-H800, AudioControl LC2i (£120), JL Audio Cleansweep, JBL MS-8, Audison Bit-Ten, Audison Bit-One, Metra Axxess AX-ALOC648, DS-18. However the prices really do vary and I kinda feel £120 is about my limit so my current favorite is the AudioControl LC2i. However there may be lots more tech that I'm unaware of and maybe you guys will be able to tell me? Here's a rather bad photograph taken in almost pitch darkness with a lamp behind me to my right, I'll get some proper photos online tomorrow to display exactly what is what.

  21. Agreed with Stoney there, I've had one of the rubber protectors break on the rear, but was replaced under warranty, and also if they break out of it, its only £15 for a new one. Also, wax the car when you clean it, and it doesn't scratch if it gets dirty. Ive done a year of opening doors on 25000 miles of dirt at various thicknesses with mine so far, and the door edges are still good lol

  29. Why is the rear bumper showing up as red on the camera screen when your profile picture shows the car in white? Heat from the exhaust perhaps 🤷‍♂️

  30. Try swapping fuse with another one of the same amp from the wipers or somthing Could be a hairline fracture in the fuse preventing current

  32. That seems like an excellent idea tbh. But if Ford skimp on the motion sensors and buy cheap unreliable ones you won't be able to get into the car yourself.

  33. Difficult to say really, obviously keeping the coolant circulating is good. But idling a hot engine while stationary is just going to increase under bonnet temps overall so it seems a bit counter productive.

  36. Haha, I had a similar issue a few weeks ago, had just put the washing machine on and was sat on the toilet when I heard a lot of metallic scraping and clanking outside... Finished as quick as I could and flushed, then looked out the window to see someone trying to clear a blockage in our sewage drain! 😮 Fortunately that particular drain takes waste from several flats so they didn't know who it was! In my defence, no one had told us beforehand lol. Thanks Zain, I did have a nice day afterall. Weather was good so had a nice walk around a localish nature reserve and riverside. And then had a really good hard drive through the backroads on the way home after having to leave the dual carriageway due to heavy traffic, rarely ever go for a nice backroad drive nowadays! Because of the detour and getting caught in up in a nice drive I forgot to get any diesel though...better do that today as there's only 5 miles left on the range now! I must admit, I forget how big the differences are between different cultures, can imagine it makes it very difficult to keep yourself happy as well as not upsetting your family etc. It sounds like your Mum is very accepting of the potential change though so that's good, I know some wouldn't be. I am always a bit surprised when you say your Mum or Dad wouldn't let you do something or go somewhere despite now being an adult yourself. I never really had to think about it, I grew up in a small rural village with literally 99.9% white British people so didn't have the option for anything else lol! Obviously that's far from ideal though, it was only when I got older that I realised just how prejudiced some of my older relatives are, but they've never known any different and are too old to change now. I'd like to think the majority of our generation is a lot more accepting and integrated now though. I don't think your insecurity is going to go away unless you do start meeting new people. Not necessarily for a long term relationship or anything, just to help with the confidence a bit. I don't have any confidence either so I do appreciate how stressful it is lol. I'm really hoping to try and meet a few more like-minded people this year, not for a relationship but just for some real life social interaction... Trouble is, I don't know where to go to do that either lol.

  37. You will need map update, I was running that until I updated to F7... i'm now F8. EU 4 15 is the last quarter of 2015... so very out of date mapping. as said above it may take a week or so for ford's system to sort itself out. I Myself used a friends VIN number who was already successful in the system update, as I had done the sync update already, I then updated maps straight after.

  38. So when opening up one mirror faces corrwctly but other points forward? When folding inwards one folds properly? The hit one stays at 90 degrees to car? Sounda like the mirror frame has just unclipped from the root where the motor attaches. Just pull it back into the correct position and it should just click back onto the root. 41. It's not a 'proper' backup so I don't have any settings like that. With it being a laptop constantly on the move, I only plug the HDD in occasionally and literally copy & paste stuff across to it rather than having a daily backup. The laptop has its own partitioned back up but I can't really see the point of that - surely if the laptop fails to the point of not switching on it won't be any easier to retrieve files from there than the main drive?

  43. Success!! I tried using the radio/clock to change the year as opposed to the scroll thingy on the indicator stalk and was able to scroll straight through to 2019 without having to do any of the other stuff! How odd! So all sorted! Thanks to everyone for the comments and advice. Its very much appreciated.

  45. This is the spring compressor I use to get them back in place. I had experimented with a scissor jack instead of someone prying the suspension down but in all honesty it’s a waste of time lol. By far the easiest way to remove the old ones is with a pry bar. I go with chopping the drop links off for a little more play. Unbolt the lower shock bolt and have someone hold the suspension down with a bar for whatever method of fitting you choose. Make sure the spring is sitting in the correct position in the lower cup and that the rubber boot on the top is in the correct position.
