Glow plug circuit fuse, 60amp. I would check the wiring at the conector that goes to the glow plugs , known to melt and catch fire so could be high resistance causing fuse to melt and not blow, or relay staying on keeping glow plugs drawing current.2 points

Mine was wrapped in gloss black, I found a place up the road from where I live who does vinyl wrapping, he charged me £15, he did it without removing the bonnet lip, took him 10 minuites did a good job, only it was pretty cold so im yet to see it sticks well or not over time, he did say if it starts pealing just text him and he'll do it again. Looks neat2 points

Bulbs should always be replaced in pairs, When one blows; the other is never far behind. I recommend osram NightBreaker H7 dipped beam And Osram NightBreaker H1 for high beam He see dipped beam And high beam are separate bulbs on the focus2 points
-
Sidelights are the dim little lights Dipped beam lights are the ones most commonly used High/full beams are the bright ones I'd be inclined to say the bulbs have blown. It isn't uncommon for them to go in pairs. Take them out and have a look at the filament. Replacement bulbs can be bought for a couple of quid a piece. (Or about £15 for a pair of Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited lol)2 points

Times have changed . . . I never charged more than £20 per hour . . :( It'll be the best investment for life that you'll ever make, & worked out over a lifetime of driving is as cheap as chips. Try & book 2 hour lessons as you'll learn & retain more knowledge than if you book one hour lessons :)2 points

Yes they do, the Ctek 5.0 will charge batteries between 1.2-110Ah and maintain batteries upto 160Ah. You can get a 5.0 for about £60. The next model up, the 7.0 charges batteries up to 150Ah and maintains up to 225Ah. It can also be used as a 12v power source. It's around £100. Ctek charges can be used on all type of 12v car and leisure batteries.2 points

Try tayna batteries. They do next day delivery and I got a higher capacity varta silver calcium battery with 5 years warranty for 45 quid. Best thing to do is to measure your old battery (w, h and d) then check their website for something similar. The only thing to be wary of is whether you need a silver calcium type as the alternator may over voltage a 'normal' lead acid type. They should be able to advise this, though. I'm quite happy without any children, most likely for my whole life. Can't stand them... And if that sounds harsh, then I'll openly say that when I was a child I was one of those irritating children I dislike, which is why I know I wouldn't want to inflict that on myself.2 points

I can highly recommend the Ctek range of chargers. I have a few of them now for doing all sorts. One of them however is always used on my blade, whenever the bike has been out and put back in the shed i connect the charger and forget about it. its a 0.8A charger and monitors/maintains as it needs to. Meaning no more battery problems. its very quick to connect, it comes with all the neccessary leads too.2 points

I just go a colour coded spoiler for my focus but the yard i got it from decided it would be a good idea to write all of the spoilers details on in permanent marker. I got a bit off with aftershave (alcohol) but wasn't too sure if its a good idea to keep using it. Any suggestions???1 point

work m8 at the age of over 58 decided to start again after already having a 22 year daughter from a previous relationship.his son is now about 18mths old,his missus is now preggers again with there 2nd. we at work wonder when his kids are about 10/11 whos goner be pushing who to the park?? im 47 now and from a personal point of view,i would never have another at my age let alone any older.BUT fair play to those who do and good luck to them. we are at a stage in life where we can go out and leave them,as my youngest is nearly 13,the older 1s can look after him quite well. good god,if you lot think you had problems then you shouldve walked in my shoes when they were younger. IT WAS LIKE WORLD WAR 3 in my house.EVERY SINGLE !Removed! DAY.even now there still very vocal with each other,TYPICAL kevin n perry situation. preecematt, that only works m8 if your flesh n blood dont decide to get bigger then you,a lot of peeps think i stood my eldest in a grow bag when he was a baby,as the GIT is now 6'4" and size 13 shoes and no doubt still !Removed! growing and has managed to lift my svelte figure of 16 stone up with no problems and as im now getting older and shorter(still just over 6')i tend to err on the side of caution when im in an argument sorry discussion with him. STILL i didnt teach him everything ;) so hes still wary of me. take heed of this pearl of wisdom, YOU spend 2 years teaching the gits to talk AND THE NEXT 14 YEARS TELLING THEM TO SHUT THE FOOK UP. here endeth the lesson.1 point

Nar.. Wouldnt look right. Good choice you made lol. It would ruin the clean look to be honest. Keep it to where it should be ;)1 point

Im looking at the ND-BC8 at the moment. Great resolution and picture from that. It's just like you said about the bracket and what not.1 point

yep it's the exact same part number as saw in my guide the CAM-FD1The pioneer cam is permanent live which can be used as a rear view camera when driving that's an advantage over Connects2 The connects2 camera is only live when reverse is active but i suppose could be wired to ignition live. I favour its integrated in to the boot handle and perfectly centre, can see bumper in video.1 point
-
Even though it quotes Mondeo would it still be compatible? I like the look of it and I understand what you mean in regards to the fitting of it. Mmm I need to see some videos of both I think1 point
-
here it is: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171231720467 I was going for pioneer myself aswell but I prefer the Connects2 version because it looks factory utilising a part of the car that's already there and shows Ford how they could have done it1 point
-
Can't see the connects2 one. Product not found on dynamic sounds. I'll probs be going for the Pioneer one to match the radio anyway.1 point
-
the connects2 camera is top quality Boot door strap is great function for me too because the kids can reach it to pull down the boot after putting in there school bags, Before fitting the strap they couldn't reach the boot to close it, Aside from that it adds a sporty touch to the boot, Extra WOW factor right there 😀1 point

I am tempted to do that to be honest only for show purpose ;) Right Reversing Camera on order hehe from the rents.1 point

happy to help, For optimum results I recommend having headlight alignment done after bulb change, Bulbs can be fitted upside down; I'm guilty of this myself was picked up by garage on alignment. Spring coil inside bulb should be on bottom when fitting 😕 I purchase osram on eBay and bring to local garage for fitting and alignment 👍1 point

So after a good breakfast with JBeer this morning I decided that the car needed smartening up and prepping for the winter. Started off with a shampoo using Meguiars NXT Generation, moved onto a Meguiars Clay Bar to get rid of any imperfections. Once happy with that, moved onto Meguiars Ultimate Polish and finished off with some Liquid Wax also Meguiars ;) I could become a Meguiars REP here!!!! Before anyone makes a comment, I know I never blacked my tyres because I never had time. Anyway, here's some piccies. Few weeks off cleaning now :) Sounds like a plan to me!! They will make a big difference but nice and subtle at the same time.1 point

As Stef said - nose weight (not even accounting for the extension forces) would prevent you doing that safely. Is a small bike trailer not an option? They come up on ebay quite often fairly cheaply1 point

Not particularly if I'm honest. The car had a flawless service history and was a real credit to the guy I bought it off. It has the same tivct engine as the mk2 I had so I knew the engine as well, even if it is kinda old now. I haven't had any problems as of yet and hopefully I don't, but I can't see anything happening anytime soon. It really is a solid car and I'm loving every minute of driving it, pulls well and sounds excellent with the Green air filter I got recently. I got lucky in regards to the price. £7,500 and the guy had paid extra for the 18" alloys and for Sat Nav to be fitted so I lucked out big time ! Sent from the pub with a pint in the other hand.1 point

Aww how cute is the turbo 😯 good quality battery there too BOSCH S4 👍1 point

Here are a few initial photos of my car, need to get the cambelt and aux belt done soon - the garage has stated that they offer a 6 month warranty on the car (parts and labour) - will be checking tomorrow to see if the belt/cambelt is covered by this. Anyway, here is the engine, you can see the airbox feed pipe to the right of the turbo pipe, it looks like there is a front feed from behind the grill (will check): You can see that the pipe ends pointing towards the passenger headlight, pipe inlet size seems to be around 6 inches by 2 inches. You can also see further up intake pipe there are additional vents which suck in hot air from next to the engine: I can see that there is a sensor in the inlet pipe, will need to use this when fitting a 'straight shot' intake, will drive the car 100% stock this week and see what the MPG is like.1 point

When someone drove into my Mum last month, both the police and then her insurer asked her, "did she have any dashcam footage, of the collision?" Today's walk with dog, along the road with takeaways and restuarants, yielded £14.25 in loose change off the pavement, :) down on Wednesday's collection. We did however, go down to quay around the ferry terminal, where from some of the change gathered, I acquired some mackerel, from an angler, for her tea. :) She does like an oily fish, from time to time :)1 point

When you get to the battery check that the connections are tight1 point

I'll try that. Thanks. Very weird as it's a brand new battery.1 point

I'm sure I've read on here that petrols don't have a DMF. My 1.8HE goes through a period of uneven running just a few hundred yards after moving off. It only lasts for half a minute or so then it's fine. I just assume it's the ECU not fuelling properly as the engine warms up, maybe leaning the fuel/air ratio too early or too late. It's never been a big enough issue for me to get it looked at.1 point

If anybody wants a more accurate temperature reading you can buy a cheap ODB2 Bluetooth scanner for £2.78 on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261530551930?euid=03b642980fdb4fe5809395eb7d047338&cp=1. You only have to download software to your mobile phone and can get to see the actual temperature. The only hassle is the length of time it takes to arrive, mine took almost a month to arrive which wasn't a problem as I wanted it but didn't need it for anything specific so could wait.1 point

Do not install a Lead Acid Battery on this Car It may lead to charging problems, The car has a smart charge alternator system Calcium Batterys are reccomended. Jamie p.s 14/15 years is MEGA good for a car battery (if its the orignal) Bosch Batteries are good as are Yuasa (from personal experiance) If you become a club supporter you get a %15 halfords discount card in your membership pack which can be used against the price of a new battery1 point

So myself and partner picked my little boy up from nanny's after work on Thursday - he always leaves his scooter at nanny's as he is there Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday. Thursday he through the biggest fit and wanted to bring it home then Friday morning he through another big fit that it was at home! What is that all about?1 point

It's the heater resistor pack that needs replacing, it's quite common for these to fail. The genuine one: http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_focus_heater_resistor_f_1311115_c_104.htm or you can get aftermarket ones on ebay for about £12 You'll need to remove the glovebox, to make it easier to get to the resistor pack. Which is held in place with 8mm bolt. It's a simple job of of removing the failed one and plugging in the new one. While you're about it, it is a wise move to replace the pollen filter1 point

"Electric exterior mirrors have a heating element that will defrost or demist the mirror glass. They will switch on automatically when you switch the heated rear window on" That's straight from the owners manual. I've had a quick look on the Ford website and given the entry level Studio has 'Electrically-operated and heated door mirrors with side indicators' it seems logical the Zetec S will have them also.1 point

My mother who has epilepsy had her licence taken off her for 12 months (10 month in now) all because a Dr wrongfully said she was having fits which she has not had one 30 years, obviously the DVLA wont take her word for it or even her doctors after they sent a letter to the DVLA with medical evidence proving the fact she has the condition under control and that she has not had a fit. She misses driving really bad and cant wait to get back behind the wheel but for now I'm her chauffeur. Hope you get behind the wheel soon Keith, wish you a speedy recovery :)1 point

Is this as simple as plug and play or splicing. And is there any labelling as to which is perm live or is it wire diagram time? Thanks for getting back to me so quick Ginger flame.1 point
