  2. Tuna and pasta go together so well, and with the addition of onion and extra virgin olive oil, you've get heaven on a plate However, I still fail to understand why you don't like cauliflower cheese though. it's even very pleasant cold the following day straight from the fridge, which a lot of foods aren't Really? Tuna's one of my favourite fishes Correct if I'm wrong, I thought Mr Bieber's music was aimed at those who are have outgrown care bears and Teletubbies: but have not yet embarked on puberty. I didn't know he had an adult following

  5. Alternator was changed today by a local independent auto electrition who fully diagnosed the fault. All I had to pay was 49 quid diagnostics and the warranty cover the 370 alternator. Went back to my local ford and told me nothing was wrong in the first place, they said the garage who changed the alternator was wrong and that wasn't the fault. I made a right scene as they still don't accept anything was wrong with my car. anyway new alternator was fitted and the vibrations have gone and the car runs great.

  6. Note that 300 mm front disk brakes must be combined with 280 mm rear disk brakes. Combining 300 mm front disk brakes with 265 mm rear disk brakes or even rear drum brakes should be avoided. The bigger front disk brakes affects the brake balance of the car which can even make the car unstable during hard braking.

  10. That's the beauty of individualism and freedom of choice. The bands of back then either the 70's or 80's would have made it anyway because that era WAS rock based. I'd say the radio 1 artists of today wouldn't of stood a cat in hells chance back then. Even the greats like Marvin Gaye had to restyle himself to carry on. I like what I like as does the next person. I don't or ever liked country tho. Geez that's bad.

  12. This usually only happens when a very worn diesel engine starts to burn it's own engine oil. I don't think your injector problem is related to that scenario in any way. One way to stop an engine that's running away is to discharge a CO2 or other inert gas fire extinguisher into the intake.

  13. After a lot of searching, reading and translating, I came across direct links to Ford servers hosting the official EU upgrade files for Sync 2. No need to sign up to the Ford India website, just download, extract to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB stick and away you go. I did use the Ford India website to determine which language pack matches to my VIN for use in the UK. It shouldn't really matter as all EU language packs include British English, but I get a bit OCD so wanted to know which one Ford would use. That turned out to be Language Pack 5. I have read that you may need a minimum of the F4 SD card or newer, however everyone with Sync 2 in the EU should have F4 following the recall (if you have Nav fitted). Here is the full list of the Oct 15 update, if you are not from the UK, but another EU country, you need to make sure you download the correct language pack to include the language you want to be able to speak (and have spoken) to the car in: Language Pack 1 - German, English (British), Russian, Turkish: http://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/swparts/Gen2v38build15128updatepackageEULangpack1Rev4.zip Language Pack 2 - German, English (British), Polish, Russian: http://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/swparts/Gen2v38build15128updatepackageEULangpack2Rev4.zip Language Pack 3 - German, English (British), French, Italian: http://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/swparts/Gen2v38build15128updatepackageEULangpack3Rev4.zip Language Pack 4 - German, English (British), French, Swedish: http://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/swparts/Gen2v38build15128updatepackageEULangpack4Rev4.zip Language Pack 5 - English (British), Spanish, French, Portuguese: http://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/swparts/Gen2v38build15128updatepackageEULangpack5Rev4.zip - This is the one I used Language Pack 6 - German, English (British), French, Dutch: http://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/swparts/Gen2v38build15128updatepackageEULangpack6Rev4.zip US/NA Only (for our cousins across the pond): http://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/swparts/Gen2v38build15128updatepackageNARev2.zip For 3.10, please see this post: Once you have downloaded and extracted the zip to the root of a USB drive (min 2GB formatted as FAT32), you need to remove all other USB sticks/devices from the ports on the car (Nav SD can be left in), then start the engine and turn off auto/stop start. Plug the USB in and it should auto detect the update files, then just follow the on screen instructions. You need to give yourself at least 30 mins for the update to install, in that time you can drive the car, but remember that anything normally displayed on the screen will not be available (rear view cam, sensor distance, etc.). Here are some before, during and after pics: Big thanks to this post on focus fanatics for the url and available files.

  14. Hello All Thought Id share my very minor mod for a 3.5mm jack socket. Ford wanted it put in the glove compartment how ever I wanted to be able to plug in/out whenever I wanted and didnt want a wire coming out the glove box looking messy etc. I have instead put it in one of the blanking panels by the rear/front screen heater switches I think it looks pretty smart! The car did not come with the lead already installed so after a bit of research I found one on Ebay that went straight to a 3.5mm Jack. I simply cut that off and soldered it onto a socket instead. Purchased for about £3. The cable was about £13 this is first mod. I want to now go for footwell lights...a bit of research is going to be needed I think! Enjoy.

  15. Just to update this thread in case anybody has the same issue and comes upon sees this. I brought it to an auto electrician and said there's nothing he can do so I decided I would remove it and send it off to a specialist to be repaired. I successfully took out the cluster the night before I was going to send it and I left it plugged out. I plugged the cluster back in the next day before I was going to send it and none of the warning lights or warning messages appeared so I decided not to send it to the specialist. It has been 10 days since I put it back in and the issue has not returned thankfully. If there is a change in situation I will update the thread again.

  16. k4 is the fuel pump relay, in your photo is the bottom left relay, the fuse that feeds that relay is fuse 30 and fuse 31, you can see the fuse numbers on the fusebox

  18. You know what I mean... I'd give that Tyre Weld a go, it would probably work fine as your tyres will be quite low profile despite having larger rims. Just make sure you let almost all the air out of the tyre first, add the can, drive the required distance to seal it (touch wood) and then top up more if necessary. It worked 100% on slow punctures to both our Focus and Primera.

  24. The 5 speed is just fine. On 125 PS version you get plenty of torque for accelerating and the gears are resonable long. You can cruise in 5th at 100 km/h just above 2k rpm. Fine for me. On 150 km/h it's just above 3k rpm. Its only a bit stupid around town, you have to switch a lot between 2nd and 3rd. (nothing to serious, you get used to :) )

  26. Took the day off work to try get this figured out, gotta get it running by the 13th july and through MOT. Detached the fuel tank to access the pump cable. *******Checked the cable at the correct prongs and there is no power being sent to the pump. only to the fuel sender. I also checked the inertia switch and that is fine. I also spliced the inertia switch cables as it goes to the pump and again, no power. I need to locate the relays I'm assuming but can't find any decent diagrams. I bought a pump from the breakers which is probably not the issue now. I assume its a relay or fuse but i cannot find any diagrams for my car model. 2001 Fiesta 1.3 Flight - HK51 JGZ

  29. Peter, Thanks for response. The engine is petrol and the car is going in for a check tomorrow. After the incident I continue to drive ( had no choice) without incident, but wary of issue. I have heard this problem occurring, but rarely, on London taxis. I remember the Imp well, but never owned one. Rijost

  31. Don't like half the songs on Youtube, meaning how can I never of heard of Twenty One Pilots or Lukas Graham and they have like 400mil + views on their videos, yet Gary Numan/Flock of Seagulls etc on have a few mill. Even Duran Duran is nowhere near, nor the cult or Creedence Clear water, the vast amount of decent music that only has a few mil views. Yet all this modern rubbish on Radio 1 has half a mil views. Can tell I'm getting old, I only listen to Absolute Radio now. Can't stand pop music nowadays. Well with the exception of Justin Bieber

  40. It could be a blocked fuel filter especially if like you said the fuel tank has been run low it could be pulling all sorts of muck from the bottom of the tank?

  41. if its sat for a while i wouldn't be surprised if the pump has seized
    1 point
  42. Ah ok, should be enough in it now then. I'd probably check for leaks around the fuel pipes and filter as it was so low before though. Also, have you tried starting it with the fuel cap off? I've come across a few of them that cause huge vacuum in tank, usually leads to running rough rather than not starting at all but worth a try. Listen to your own cars fuel pump to see if this one makes the same noise on ignition on. Got access to a diagnostic scanner? Even an OBD one on a mobile phone?
    1 point
  43. You would know if it was I think, it makes a whirring noise. If it's totally silent when you turn key to ignition stage your needing to investigate the pump

  44. Can you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn key to ignition position? (Lights only - no starter)

  45. Checking a battery with just a multimeter doesn't prove its got the oomph to start a car but if it is turning over then it likely has. Have you checked it's getting fuel and got spark?

  50. An alternative is to buy a 1.5 mtr 3.5mm jack plug to 3.5mm jack plug extension lead and carefully route it from the glove box aux socket to the centre console, you can route it coming out under the glove box and under various bits of trim, no leads showing, works a treat.
