Mk7 Front Seats Question

Featured Replies

Probably a silly question, but....

The brochure says that the driver's seat on most MK7 Fiesta models is 4-way adjustable and the headrest is 2-way.

What are the 4th and 2nd (respectively) modes of adjustment?

It's a load of rubbish to make it sound highly adjustable - all manufacturers do it. Each plane of adjustability is counted twice as you can move either way along it. Like the seat can go up and down and backwards and forwards and the headrest can go up and down. <_<

I thought that, but I counted 3 modes of adjustment on the drivers seat (forwards/backwards, tilt and up/down) which doesn't add up to 4 however you count them.

I suppose it could be forward/back, up/down, seat back tilt and lumbar (if it's specced) but I doubt it.

US Fiesta press release says "four-way adjustable driver’s seat and two-way adjustable front passenger seat" so I'm guessing they don't count tilt for some reason. (Maybe because it's a rotation rather than a translation - are they that sad? I clearly am  )

I thought it might be lumbar, but its a Titanium only option by the looks of it.

Passenger has forward/backward and tilt, but not the up/down - so 2way adjustable makes sense for the passenger seat.

It also states the drivers seat returns to original position when slid forward, then back. I can't seem to return it to the original position.

User error I think. Any ideas?

You need to push the seat backwards while its still fully folded forward, then flip it back up when its clicked back into place.

Thanks. I'll have a play tomorrow.
