Voiding Warranty

Featured Replies

Had my mk7 about a month now and ive just changed the headlight bulbs (myself) to some more modern looking ones to suit the car (standard ones dont do white justice) and just put in a k&n panel filter and this is about all i will be doing to the car for now. i noticed today that the panel filter came with a sticker that says "k&n panel filters do not void your cars warranty", is this true? ive got my 3 month courtesy check at the end of next month so will i have to take the bulbs out and put the "normal" ones back in, and put the crappy paper filter back in so i dont void my warranty?

No idea about the K&N. But if the bulbs you changed to are just normal bulbs (as opposed to a gash HID Xenon kit) then you shouldn't have to change them back over. What bulbs have you changed to?

In regard to voiding warranty, I left my car until 15,500 miles until first service (which is due at 12,500). Has this voided my warranty?

there the same wattage as normal bulbs, 55w white cosmos mtech bulbs from hid-direct http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/mtec-xenon-upgrade-bulbs/?osCsid=e4fm8sajv5dqfqc1k4p8lbb512 with sidelights to match the colour (not leds), they look alot better than standard.

was just wondering because i know some businesses can find any excuse for you to have voided your warranty

Sounds like they are just replacement bulbs then, so you should be ok. They probably wont notice unless the light looks totally different to standard ones. I doubt they go around the car taking every lamp apart to look at what bulbs you are running.

You really should take the K&N out at the first service though, as this item is changed... Last thing you want is to find they've binned your K&N for a stock ford filter
