Picked up my new Fiesta today, great love it. Apart from 1 thing.

When I first picked up the car got the Y Aux, charger cable, Phone synced fine, made a call no problem. I Pod also synced, songs were on display and could control them on steering wheel.

Parked up, when I came back it wouldnt work any more, now songs will only play through bluetooth, so if I wanna change song, have to pick up my I Phone and change it on there.

Plugged in a friends I Phone straight away, it synced the songs no problem.

Im guessing there is a setting on my I Phone or the car that needs changing. Does anybody know what this is??? Its really bugging me as it did work once.

Welcome to one of the biggest frustrations of the iPhone.

You cannot deactivate bluetooth music streaming on the iPhone - if the phone is paired with something it will automatically start playing audio through bluetooth every time you start the car. So unless you want to lose your handsfree calling, you're stuck with this. This is why your friend's phone worked - because I assume you didn't pair it with the car's bluetooth.

You can change the output on the iPhone itself - press the bluetooth symbol at the bottom of the screen and select dock connector - but you have to do it every single time you start the car. To change the car from bluetooth audio to conventional cabled means, press the aux button again on the radio, but it doesn't solve the problem.

The problem has been logged with Apple by thousands of users - let's see if version 3 of the software fixes it, because it's ridiculous.

It has caused me to abandon using the iPhone as my music player and keep an iPod in the car for music - even then the iPhone insists on playing bluetooth audio at all times, draining the battery on the iPhone.

My iPhone doesn't do that - is that cos I don't have the Aux thingumy?

Ford Sync users in the US have issues with this too, as do I. If the car is on ignition or started, it'll play music. Nothing you can do except wipe your iPhone of music until Apple fix it.

I will say this again and have been saying this for the best part of 12 months, a USB stick is still the best overall method of playing music in the Fiesta.
