St Line or st line x?

Featured Replies

Any opinions appreciated. I would’ve gone with titanium trim the same as my current car, but prefer the look of st line.

Also does anyone know what chrome blue looks like?

My current car is midnight sky and I’ve kept it because of the colour. I just really want the mk8 🙂

For me, it came down to the best way to get the features I particularly wanted, without ending up with a load of stuff I didn't want. As I wanted the 140ps engine and climate control (EATC), the options at the time were limited to ST-line X or Vignale. Didn't want the Vignale features (and didn't like the price), so went for the ST-line X.

If EATC had been available on the ST-line as an option, I'd probably have gone for that as I'm not a fan of the part leather seats in the X. Alternatively if you could get a 140ps Titanium, I'd have given that serious consideration, though like you I prefer the look of the ST-Line.

If you're not bothered about EATC and part leather, you can get most of the other bits as options on the ST-Line anyway.

What does the X have over the ST-Line model?

I have the St-Line with dealer optioned (ex demo) rear privacy glass, 18" wheel upgrade, sat-nav - what am i missing compare to the X model?

In addition to what you have listed (and the 18’s are options on both), you get:

auto wipers, eatc (auto climate control), part leather seats, centre armrest with lighting, auto full beam, traffic sign recognition, driver alert, LED rear lights, cruise control, auto dimming rear view mirror and power fold wing mirrors with puddle lights.

quite a lot a lot of extras but you’re paying for the them alright.

Ah, quite a few extra items - mine has got the folding door mirrors and cruise and i think auto wipers?, wouldn't mind the led rear lights but not bothered about the other extras 🙂

Quite a lot of extras on the X opposed to the bog standard st line. As above but the screens are bigger as well, what I didn't realise at first.

When we ordered ours, the difference in price was only around £1200 (If I remember right) and after haggling the price blah blah blah, the difference on the monthly payments was worth getting the car fully loaded with the X than the big standard.

We also looked at the 18 inch alloy option but i think when we saw them on a fiesta they looked far too big for the car. Maybe on a Focus but not a fiesta. They reminded me of those oversized looking wheels that you used to see on the VW Golf GTI's a few years ago.

Each to their own but to big and bulky looking for us for a small sleek car.

No one can really answer this for you, it really depends whether the extra features are worth it to you.

We particularly like the auto high beam, mirror etc.

I think with the big arches the 18"s fill them nicely 🙂

Thanks for the replies. My current cars mot runs out in October, so I was hoping to change before then. I’ve seen a few on ford direct with some extras I would like. Decisions decisions!

Personal preference... definitely not ours on a small car.

What about a pre reg car or ex-demo as these usually have extras fitted?

I saved £6k buying an ex demo with lots of extras fitted, come trade in time i wont lose as much as if i'd bought new so buying a car with 2000 miles and still having 2.5 years warranty made sense to me

That's chrome blue if it helps. Last one I took myself with no edits.1daba17ff32f31fc253810e2c65e58c5.jpgd30c47cc57841efc635be7376f1ec0f1.jpga7a33d571885cf67b9b37c9b89371940.jpg
