Bluetooth Issues (unable to debond)

Featured Replies

We have a 10 plate Fiesta, phone had been working well for a while and then randomly stopped working with the bluetooth in the car.

Have deleted the ford audio from the phone but am unable to debond the phone from the car, when we select debond and then pressing yes does nothing but return back to the list of connected phones.

Is there anyway to factory reset the bluetooth on the car?

you need to go in to fuse box behind the glove box and remove the bluetooth sync fuse for 30 seconds then replace it and it will sort this out as ive done it multiple times.

cheers dan, i was expecting it to be something like this.

i'll have a look over the weekend

i've read multiple ways of doing this online, one guy says to turn car on but not start ignition and then remove fuse and wait 5 mins and wait for a click...

Is it definitely the same issue? Has your phone previously paired just fine and then stopped. Or, has it never paired and you are trying to get it to work?

@StephenFord hi I have just got the car pre owned and I have never connected it - the debond option won’t highlight and won’t let me add phone , my phone also isn’t picking up any Ford Bluetooth etc

I have sad news, it's likely that you car is not fitted with BluTooth. In 2012 it was still cutting edge tech and expensive to add. You'll need to look into getting a BluTooth module fitted which if you're not use to working on cars, may need the assistance of an auto electrician. It won't be cheap. In addition, even if you do that, it will only work with a phone, you'll not be able to stream all your bangin' tunes...

But when I look in the phone menu to debond their are phones listed but they won’t let me debond

If the dash in that pic is similar to yours it's a Focus. What car do you actually have? This thread was about the Fiesta.

Is it even a Ford, btw? "Ecoflex" was a label used by Vauxhall😀.

If it is, as it appears from the picture, a 2012 Mk 3 Focus Titanium, it would have had Bluetooth as standard when new.

I'm a dinosaur with mobiles, so whether a 12 year old system will pair successfully with modern phones would need one of our tech experts to comment.

I have a Ford focus titanium “eco” whenever

That is the wrong radio head/facia panel for a car with a Bluetooth phone connection.

The correct panel has the digits "0 to 9" so that you can use the facia to dial a number.

There are 2 Galaxy S20 and 3 iPhones bonded to Bluetooth and it gives voice message to debond a few to make room for mine

Yes I'm sure it does.

The facia panel has been replaced 'after' the phones were added.

You don't have the correct panel and you are missing the Phone button as well as the digits.

Thanks for your response but that seems a little odd why would previous owner have to change fascia

I can get Ford Bluetooth to come up on my mobile phone but when I try to pair it says by voice - there are too many

pnones already bonded, please debond some in order to bond yours !

I've told you what the problem is, but you're not wanting to accept it.

The fascias often fail on these old units. Just look at how many there are for sale on eBay. Many people buy or acquire the wrong part when replacing it.

Yes, all sorts of reasons. Probably a failure or damage as Unofix suggests, or they might have removed an aftermarket Android unit (for example) and fitted the wrong unit just to sell the car.
