Which lead for FORSCAN

Featured Replies

Hi all

I've had a good search through the forum and there are a number of older topic on this but wonder if anyone (last 6 months) has bought a lead for carrying out FORSCAN checks? My cruise control steering wheel is in the post so need to be ready for its installation.

Please add links or details to the one you purchased with a review.

I have one from Tunnelrat . recommended many times on this forum (or Focus forum). In fact I have two. the USB version which I got a year or two ago and the WIFI one which I got about 6 months ago.

https://tunnelrat-electronics.fwscart.com/

both of mine have the manual switch on.  Both seem to work fine. Not used them for configuring stuff like cruise control but I have used the USB one for key programming on a Focus

Prices shown include standard UK shipping, at least they did when I bought them.

I had previously bought 2 cheaper ones from ebay which were not much use.

Tunnelrat every time.

What makes it modified?  I have an elm327 I've used on MK4 Golf.  I'm guessing this won't work?

The modified version has a switch on it so you can access both the High and Mid speed CAN networks.  You can use a standard ELM cable but will only have access to half the modules basically.

I'd just like to add you can mod the standard elm cable yourself if you're good with a soldering iron and have a little patience. Loads of guides online. Done it a few years back.

Here's a how to I got from the web

Thanks for the info Westville, i have a lead i use to scan my MK1 TT but for the sake of £17 i'm not going to start dismantling it (Rosstech Audi lead was nearly £100) so Tunnelrat one ordered.

Thanks all,

Ross

@Manimalfloss I agree I'm going to buy one too :thumbup1:
