MK2.5 1.6 TDCi Flywheel???

Featured Replies

Good Morning all.

Can anyone confirm, does the MK2.5 1.6 TDCi had a dual mass flywheel or normal?

I'm convinced it's a normal one as it's IB5 gearbox.

Many Thanks in advance

Definitely dual mass flywheel.

Also MTX75 'box, not IB5.

The flywheels on these don't usually break up though, as they're grease filled rather than sprung, would only require replacement if it's been heat damaged by the clutch.

+1 for the above, the 1.6 TDCi and 1.8 TDCi (MK2/MK2.5 Focus) both share the MTX-75 box and both have a DMF.  As also mentioned above, the DMF solution in this instance is pretty robust and not as prone to failure as many "sprung" type DMFs.

Asking on an old post...

Are ALL Mk2.5 1.6 TDCIs grease filled dual mass flywheels? @TomsFocus

I have a 2009 66 kW / 90 PS 1.6 TDCI without DPF (last of the Euro 3 engines?) and have a suspicion that the dual mass is on the way out. It would be handy to know if it's grease filled or not. (try looking for the grease)

Thanks

As far as I know yes.  But hopefully @JW1982 can confirm.
