Ford Digital Service Record help

Featured Replies

Is anybody in the know about Ford's DSR and how to download a copy of a Service Record?

I bought my 2015 Focus ST last year, but due to Privacy Laws I didn't get any paperwork on the servicing it's had,
I've no idea what was changed or when, I would love to know when the Spark Plugs and filters etc were changed.
Service & MOT are due in 2 weeks and if I know what was changed last time I can hopefully save a few quid.

"Subsequent owners can easily obtain the entire service history and trust in the accuracy of the information (e.g. mileage, service items completed etc.)"
They make it sound easy, but I've had no luck trying to find my Service History, I'm sure it's through etis.ford.com
I've managed to Log-In but I can't find the DSR anywhere on the site, so I'm guessing it's only available through Ford or authorised repairer??.

Just had a pointless online chat with Ford 🙄

If you're not allowed to have the Service paperwork with the previous owners details on when you buy a used car,
and I can't access a Digital Service Record without having some work done in an Authorised Garage first,
how the hell do you know what needs doing on it's next Service?, it's only done 4,000 miles since it's last service.
Obviously the oil will get changed and I'm going to change filters myself, but if the Spark Plugs were changed last year I'd like to know.

What does the service schedule say in the service book (or Etis)? When are plugs normally due on this car? If it's been serviced through Ford then I would assume they were changed according to the service schedule. If it's due on year 5 then change them. If you have any doubts then it might be worth taking them out and checking them or replace them anyway.

My last car (ST24) was scheduled to have the plugs changed every 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever was sooner)

I don't think it's part of ETIS.  It's part of MyFord or FordPass.  You should be able to register and then find it with the reg?

Plugs are usually every 3 years on Fords but I can't remember if the ST is different.

Well, it doesn't seem to be on MyFord - all I can find on there is sync updates.

Also doesn't seem to be anywhere on the general ETIS.  The dealers have different access to us but the DSR should be publicly accessible for your own car.

I've tried downloading FordPass but it's being about as reliable as my Mk3 so far...  Edit - Nope, not on FordPass either...how weird.

The VW system is much easier to access, but doesn't give a full breakdown, just this sort of thing:

I've checked the 5 Years service on Etis and it's only a Minor , last year should have been a Major, I do know the car was fully Ford Serviced so should be fine,
Still, as the owner of the car I'd like to know what has been done (and likely needs to be) without having to go into Ford.

Spark plug change interval is at 37.5k miles or 3 yrs.

DSR is available only to dealers or independents who pay for access I'm led to believe.and then only certain staff at dealers. I cant access it with etis .

Their website states Authorised Repairers can access it through Etis,
And points out it means you don't get unnecessary work done (exactly what I want to avoid by using a independent garage)

I managed to Log On but I can't find DSR anywhere despite it being in their help section,
it must be blocked unless you have a special user access.

Last time I drove past Ford they'd cleared out all their cars so they'll be shut for a while,
My local garage re-opens Monday and MOT due in 2 weeks so perfect timing, I'll just have see if they have access,
if not I'll have to pay a visit to Ford once they re-open and try to get a copy of previous work.

Yeah the main dealers can definitely access it through ETIS as they can of course update it as well.

They do have different permissions as we can't access things like radio codes either.

But DSR seems a bit pointless if you can't access a read only version for your own car!

The reason I want the paperwork is because the dealer ditched the previous owners paperwork along with the Service Book too!!...
I literally have no physically history or stamp for the car, but I do know it's only had 1 owner and was serviced by Ford since new, I just want a record.
I actually traced the previous owner on Facebook to ask about the Service Book, everything was handed in on part-ex.
I shouldn't be forced into Ford to have some basic history for a car I own, it should be free access with a V5 or something.

Even main CS cannot access DSR's, only dealers.

Stupid, I know, right? I asked for a full copy so I could pass it onto the person who was buying my Focus, to prove (amongst the invoices) work done.
