Timing belt - Fiesta 1.25 Zetec Climate MK6 2008

Featured Replies

Hi,

Ive just bought a Ford Fiesta and wanted to check whether the cambelt has been changed (in the absence of a receipt for the work BUT a stamp in the service book and someone having written that the "timing belt has been changed"). Is anyone able to let me know how I can check whether the timing belt in the engine is a new one or not?

Thank you

You can try going to the garage to see if they have an invoice for it. Unless it's a Ford dealer they more than likely won't have one, or can't be bothered to find it so will say no anyway.

The best way to check is by removing the cam belt cover and checking the condition and date on the belt. I can't remember if that requires the engine mount to be removed or not sorry.
