Drilled key ingition cylinder

Featured Replies

Hi,

my key was worn out and steering wheel got locked and Windows was down at a bad spot.

I drilled out the cylinder, i could then use a big screwdriver to twist the center ”nut” in the bottom into position 1 and steering wheel unlocked= great.

Position 2 I could get my Windows up 🙂

Position 3. Nothing happends. How come? I was thinking it would start but no crank at all.

Any idees to get forward Tomorrow? 🙂

thanks!! Any help appreciated.

Seems legit...

You need the immobiliser chip near the pickup ring when you attempt to start it.

Haha 😎 It is.

thanks for your reply.

OK i test tomorrow. Did not know that, i was thinking my second key( that is lost) looked simple without buttons. But i guess that one also had a chip inside then.

Yep, as you suggest, they all have the immobiliser chip inside.  The remote buttons are a separate luxury!

@TomsFocus now sitting here wondering if he's party in the robbery of a car 😂

Either way, looks like a new ignition barrel, door barrel and set of keys for you.
