Engine immobilizer problem

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, let me explain my problem : I had a blue 2004 ford fiesta mk6 which I crashed, but the engine wasn't damaged and because it didn't have a lot of miles on it, I bot the same car in grey with more miles and swapped the engine. The problem is that the system to release the turbo pressure is different from one engine to the other so I most run the good engine with its original ECU. But this ECU is not coupled with the anti theft system from the car it now sits in. I tried to install all the electrical boxes from the old car in the new car in order to get the ECU to work but nothing helps, I must be missing one. Can someone help ? Thanks for your answers.

The immobiliser system comprises of the ecu, dash clock binnacle and key chips.
You need the parts that match the ecu fitted to your car.

As @Stoney871said the ECU needs matching up with the rest of the immobiliser system. So everything needs to be swapped. The ABS module might be even be part of the immobiliser system (it is on newer vehicles not sure on this one). Might be easier to bite the bullet and get a dealer to match the immobiliser system up through IDS... Not sure if Forscan can do this or not
