Thinking of buying a Fiesta

@Luke4efc I think it's expensive because it is 'best in class'. Has all the bells and whistles such as part leather heated seats.

But, I think you are right.

People on this forum have offered some valuable insights and on balance I will probably go for a newer model such as a late 2017 or early 2018, preferably a Titanium version.  It does mean I'll have to absorb the hit of road tax, but for a newer, more sophisticated car with a better interior, it will be worth it.

Here's just a few of the many Titanium X's with less than 30k on the clock I found on Autotrader. They all have the same spec as the one you posted (as far as I could see). There's certainly nothing missing that's worth paying £1000 more for.

You can easily buy a low mileage mk8 for under 10 grand, but it would probably be a zetec with the 100ps, 1.0L engine with virtually no optional extras. Don't forget most things are standard on the mk8, where as they were extras on the mk7, such as sat nav and tyre pressure monitoring.

Yes? Read through my conversation with the OP below. They said that's what they were looking at, so I offered some cheaper alternatives...

That seems very expensive for a 4 year old car! There are many examples of the same age car with the same spec for about a grand less.

Pay the money you take the choice. Its better to have a newer car with higher mileage, service on these cars are 2 years or 18k so more likely less work needed doing to the newer car.

Eh?

Can I suggest, when this Lockdown is over hopefully in a few weeks and depending on your area (Tier level), you go to garage(s) and have a test drive in a mk7.5 then a mk8 and decide yourself if the mk8 is worth the extra money.

I wasn't sure which one to go for myself. It was either a mk7 Red edition, or a 5dr mk8 st-line. I test drove both and ended up buying the more expensive mk8 st-line X which I'm very happy with it and the decision made.

mrk 7 is outdated comparing both models. people say the steering wheel combined with instrument panel looks like roland rats head.

Makes you wonder why I'm so happy with mine.

I have a mark 7.5 Titanium X 125 registered 2014.

Had it 3.5 years, very happy with it bar fuel economy but don't use it that often so its fine. Had a few problems with it but all sorted under warranty.

Mine has all the extras bar sat nav (so full leather, 17" alloys etc)

If you do buy either ST line or Titanium x watch out with the 17" wheels they are so easy to kerb, you have only got to look at the kerb and it touches it!!!

Hope this helps

My Titanium X has 16 inch wheels I'm pleased to say.
