Heater cable replacement

Hi Guys,

My heater controls do not change the air outlet direction, only feed is to dash/face louvres. I removed the heater controls (manual aircon model) and could not see the actuator cable which seems to control air direction. Is there a guide or video on this topic? Alternatively, how could I set airflow to a permanent mix of windscreen demist and face louvres manually?

2014 manual aircon model.

I have sourced a new mechanical cable, but it appears this is difficult to install.

    I have similar problem in that mine works but has become crunchy. To get at the cable on mine I removed the radio. Now you can see the cable and removal although difficult is possible.

    You may need to remove the panel with the knobs on.
