Help Ford Focus titanium 09 1.6

Featured Replies

Please help!
bought a cheap first car focus titanium 09 1.6 petrol

First day noticed the indicators didn’t show on the dash but worked fine just assumed it was a fuse that night the dash flashed up acceleration reduced then engine malfunction whilst beeping like mad! Managed to limp it home got in to take it to a garage this morning and it all flashed up again got it there and there saying it needs a new dash.

I’ve read online it’s a common fault is it as easy as picking up a new dash and problem solved once it’s coded in or is this something which is going to keep happening? I’m going into the garage to see them tomorrow morning so hoping they can give me a few more answers any help please really can’t afford a massive bill x

Just google "focus mk2 cluster faults" or "U1900" (the errorcode for faulty clusters) and you will get a bunch of providers to fix it for you, if you have time to wait for this, it is very common that the solderings are losing contact with the main board on the cluster.

Its a £60 turn around, plus postage on ebay.

Just two screws, easy peasy to remove, easier than a wheel

Yep, fingers crossed! Hope this will help. Do let us know!

I’ve give them the go ahead now it’s not something I’m familiar with I had to google to realise it was a common fault I expected a lot more so £250 didn’t seem too bad x

Lol yes it should be an 1.5 to 2 hours max from removing the cluster from your car to re-installation :/ Oh well little late now

There didn’t seem to be anywhere local to us who dealt with it so being couriered down south and back hopefully the courier isn’t delayed and it’s back up and running within the week x
