Please recommend a battery to replace Ford Silver Calcium, 43Ah, 390A

Just came back from local Halfords testing the battery.

The battery voltage is 12.4V (this is ok for starting the engine) but measured battery life is 41%. I was told that I need to replace the battery asap. So it seems that I am not luck to buy a low-quality battery (only running for one year but with 4 year warranty.

Possibly a faulty cell. You can go to the Varta website and type in your postcode to find your nearest Varta battery test centre and hopefully have a replacement fitted under your warranty 👍

Thanks. Will call the supplier next week.

At the same time I need thinking about buying another battery if the supplier doesn't help. Can you recommend any Silver Calcium battery if possible? Thanks

Sorry I can’t recommend a brand.if Varta won’t replace under warranty, you could buy another Varta and get it fitted there and then.Or what I would probably do; go to your local Ford garage and let them fit and set up an OEM battery,a lot more expensive though👍

I have always fitted Yuasa batteries as replacements. They are not cheap, but I've always found them to be excellent for Ford vehicles.

If you become a member of the FOC then you will get 15% off at Halfords
