It’s true you change one thing in a cars running you need to change it all. Rs/st come out the factory performance tuned to what the car can handle in every day life a lot people forget that lol 😂

Couldn't agree more, I think some people can just add power just like that but after reading your list of performance mods, you've obviously had the time for the car to make sure everything is withholding that power, thats the proper way to tune a car, not just a cheap map. 👍🏼

Perfect then, cheers to both of you for you help. I’m not bothered about pushing the engine to the max it’s more due to how responsive the turbo is. I’m not clued up on all this stuff so this has helped 👍🏻

I had my Mk7 re mapped by Superchips (Bluefin) from 125 to 150 and was very impressed with how torquey it felt low down through the midrange as mentioned before Ford limit the torque as the 5 speed box is made of cheese. If going for any stage 1 map I would strongly look to upgrade the standard factory intercooler as it struggles to keep inlet temps below 50 Deg C on a warmish day. I have since put a PumaSpeed stage 3 map on the same car and the low down feels very similar but the mid to rev limiter is much stronger as it should. The only downside to the PS stage 3 map is that the extras that go with it so it ends up costing around 2k for an extra 30 - 40 Hp over the Superchips map. That said I dont regret spending that money as the car is very nice to drive has a nice exhaust note too. At some point I will go further as I have Forged pistons and upgraded rods waiting to go into another engine.
