[Help] Trying to get Rain Sensor Working, issues with lin 8?

Featured Replies

@Rowan112 Have you managed to solve the issue with the communication error?  I too have followed the guide and have ended up with a communication error.  Is it a programming issue with Forscan maybe?

no i have made almost no progress on it working.

I have tried changing out the voltage stablization module to the -AC part number as i saw that lin8 goes to it but it has made no difference

Rowan.  Mine is now working.  It was fuse F62 which had blown.  Now have Auto Lights and Wipers.

i had checked that fuse, it was perfectly fine.
i am also getting power to the rain sensor, it's just voltage from lin8 not doing anything. to be fair i've not checked since replacing voltage stabilizer. so i could go do another check tbh.

just need to get round to it tbh

I think, like you I done the exact same as Chris_w, activated with Forscan (BCM and IPC) and a "new" fuse.....I have done nothing else..

Hi Rowan. Did you get any further with this? Do you get a signal out of Lin 8 at the BCM, C1 connector pin 42? Maybe it's possible to tap off the required RSM Lin signal from here rather than C4-13...

you know what, i did try adding rear electric windows but i got errors popping up about the ECU and non of the windows worked.
i had the 2x connectors that goes to each door aswell, so i thought i might have it but nothing was working

Have you thought about changing your car? 😂 (only joking)

What part number is your BCM? It could be a basic one that doesn't support the rain sensor. Are any of the pics in the C4 socket unpinned?

Also try removing fuse 62 and then measuring the voltage on the rain sensor power and lin pins. Then you can reinstall fuse 62 and test the voltages again...
