Ford Mondeo 2.0 Tdci Dura-Torq Noise

Featured Replies

Hi all I know this is an old thread but it seemed the correct place to post.

Reference the tensioner pulleys and crank pulley change on a 2006 tdci 130ps.

I have fitted original ford parts and gates parts and after around 3-5k it is rattling again, so I decided to do the mod to the alternator and fit a clutch pulley to it.

Very simple mod and wow what a difference it is smoother quieter and just great, 7k later and not a single noise from the tensioner or anywhere.

The pulley I fitted was from a 1.8/2.0 petrol model part number was Zen 5429, you have to file down a bit of the casing under the original pulley on the alternator housing so the Zen one fits, easy job.   You will need a 33tooth spline hollow socket to correctly tighten the new pulley and that's it.

Well worth the effort next time you need to change the tensioner pulleys and belts.

I have included images of alternator mod I borrowed from another nice website.
