1.4 TDCI DuraTorQ Injection/glow plugs loom.

Featured Replies

Hi Ceffyn,
Your approach is brilliant to say the least... and you got the issue solved.
I have the same on a 2009 Fiesta 1.4 Duratorq...
Just replaced all 4 injectors with rebuilt ones, so everything should be perfect...
But still have a miss on and off on cyl 3.
I see the rational in rewiring the injectors, but just the injectors.
Which one of the PCM connectors is the one for the injectors? Top, middle or bottom?
Top one seems to go somewhere else, so I think that one is for everything else but the engine itself (dash, warning lights...)
So I suspect the bottom PCM connector is the one with the injector feed wires?

Please can you confirm/correct me?

Thank you,
Jake

That's the layout and pinout of the mk6 injection/glow plug/sensor top loom section. if/when i manage to get a 2nd hand full engine loom i will make diagram's and such of the entire loom.

A little extra information:

The piezo injectors are operated by up to 200 volts, 15 amps. This has the potential to kill and if you manage to disconnect the injector while the piezo crystals are expanding, the crystals will not complete the process and discharge to the ground causing them to remain in their expanded stake, keeping the injector open.

So these injector wires can carry up to 3000 Watt at any given time.
No wonder the loom is very sensitive to any power leaks from damaged wires or cracked insulation.
I wonder if even just the proximity between the wires of the injector inside the rubber loom could cause a spark to jump between them, rather than activating the piezo injector...?
