Well the easy alternative is just set the limiter and sit resting your foot down on the accelerator

Is the car a Mk7.5 or the Mk8 ?

Yes, this does work - I tried it out to help another member a couple of years back, though my car does have cruise also. You can't give your right foot a rest, of course, but if your main objective is not exceeding the limit, it's fine.

Car in the picture of the steering wheel is a Mk 8.

Thanks for the words of encouragement - they are appreciated.

I think what I would need to find is a very qualified and competent auto-electrician capable of doing the work: that certainly isn't something I would take on myself!

That said, my fear is that if a Ford workshop won't take it on (citing concerns over safety, & reading your link, I see that this also involves disabling the airbag, etc - I can understand their reticence!), then it is likely beyond us getting done.    Easier to drive the car for a 6-12 months, and find one to a spec she wants.  Or longer, if she finds she doesn't miss the cruise control 🤷🏼‍♂️

My challenge was finding one in a very short timeframe - never a great place to be when car hunting.   Better to do it when we have time on our hands, & the luxury of not *needing* to find one!

If, however, anyone here is able to offer services to get this sorted at a reasonable price, I'm happy to receive a message to discuss!   Although we are in Leicestershire, she is in Manchester.

Have a look on the Fiesta Mk8 Facebook group, there’s a guy on there who does “standard cruise” retrofit.
